Waste not, want not
Or as they say, every little bit helps
19/11/2015
I haven't really turned back to abstraction - it's just I've realised a way I can cut down on waste. I paint on old coffee sacks because of their strong texture. The downside is they drink up paint so I have to use a lot of primer. I then build up the texture of my paintings by squeezing strings of paint over the canvas (or rather the coffee sack). I use plastic squeeze bottles and a lot of paint stays in the bottle. So I've decided that, instead of wasting this paint, to scrape it out of the bottle and to spread it on the canvas. Hopefully I'll now need less primer. (Apologies for the quality of the photo - taken with my phone without bothering about getting things properly lit)
