A carbon copy

Article text
I've been going on tagging my pictures by medium and realised that over the years (and these pictures cover a span of 25 years) my favourite medium for capturing a likeness is carbon pencil with chalk highlights. And before anybody points out these are portraits not life drawings if you look closely you'll see that all bar one are life drawings where I've concentrated on the face (and the one that isn't was done at the Croydon Life Drawing Group one day when we couldn't get a life model).
